Our Impact

We help people in Squamish get through some of their worst moments so they can move forward. Our work is supported by many caring members of our community who believe in what we do–creating a safe and healthy community for all.

125 homeless people

307 primary care patients

920 food bank visits per month

2,069 overdose prevention site visits per month

How we are helping

The rising cost of living continues to drive demand for our services. In Squamish, 21% of residents live in unaffordable housing, and nearly 500 renters spend over 50% of their income on housing. Since 2021, homelessness has increased by 12%. Food bank visits have surged, and our landfill is nearing capacity.

With food prices up 27% and housing costs up 29% in three years, access to affordable essentials is more critical than ever. Our community hub provides vital support. As we near the end of 2025, our daily and monthly numbers are surging past our totals from the previous year.

In 2024, we were able to provide:

  • 21,398 nights in stabilized, supported housing and emergency beds
  • 5,338 loads of laundry + free showers
  • 107,505 kg of rescued food, repurposed into 97,002 meals including:
    • 52,633 breakfasts & lunches for vulnerable youth
    • 2,768 Meals on Wheels for seniors & mobility-impaired individuals
    • 41,601 hot meals at Under One Roof
  • 9,729 food bank visits, averaging 810 visitors/month
  • 284 patients at our primary care clinic

Every connection we make brings us closer to a healthier, more equitable community.

I’ve seen staff cruising around and checking on people. They tend to make sure that us in the Back 40 [encampment behind Under One Roof] are all accounted for and safe. I appreciate that they try to put a little sunshine in someone else’s day, even if it’s as small as a cup of hot chocolate and a smile. It really means a lot to people.
