Michelle Sims

Michelle Sims is a Nurse Practitioner and healthcare leader, where she has spent many years supporting the growth of Nurse Practitioner practice and improving access to care across the region. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Health Systems Leadership and brings experience in healthcare leadership, governance, and system improvement. For the past 14 years, she has worked as a primary care provider with people and communities impacted by social and health inequities, first in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside and now in North Vancouver. She continues to practice clinically alongside her healthcare leadership work.

Michelle lives in Squamish with her family and is proud to call the Sea to Sky community home. She joined the Helping Hands Board because she believes strongly in compassionate, practical support for people in our community and is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the important work of Helping Hands.
