Alida Oegema-Thomas

Alida Oegema-Thomas (she/her) is a second generation Dutch-Canadian, grateful to live and work in the unceded territory of the Skwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw. She works at the intersection of public policy, health equity, and social innovation and is particularly passionate about community-driven and community-defined social development. She’s motivated to see Squamish be and become a community where everyone can thrive and contribute with dignity, belonging, and reciprocity. Her experience spans 20+ years in public-sector, nonprofit, charity, research, and social impact organizations focused on gender equity, human rights, public health, and climate justice. She holds a Master of Public Policy and Global Affairs (MPPGA) from UBC and Certified Professional Impact Analyst (CPIA) designation from Queens University. Alida is a mountain enthusiast, runner and triathlete, and avid supporter of women’s sports.
