New Website and Brand Amplify Our Vital Work

Community News  Fundraising
We are excited to announce a new website and brand to reflect our growth and evolution to serve our community.

Since 2006, Squamish Helping Hands has provided food, shelter, and care to community members. Its four-story service center in downtown Squamish (Under One Roof) houses the only shelter beds in the Sea to Sky corridor from Lillooet to North Vancouver. A team of staff and volunteers deliver programs and services spanning food security, harm reduction, and outreach; lifesaving resources and compassionate support to individuals in crisis.

Rising costs of living, a toxic drug crisis, and increasing housing instability have highlighted the critical role Squamish Helping Hands plays in the community. “Our brand update aligns with our vision of a safe and healthy community for all,” explains Lori Pyne, Executive Director. “The refreshed website will help us to create a stronger and unified voice, share the impact of the work we do, and help advocate for change.”

The new logo represents an evolution of Squamish Helping Hands’ previous logos, incorporating symbols of shelter, food, and health into a continuous line icon. This design reflects its wrap around approach to care, accenting its integrated and compassionate services.

The project was initiated thanks to funding provided by the Government of British Columbia through the Community Prosperity Fund and administered locally by the Squamish Community Foundation. “We’re so pleased to see the refreshed website and brand launch,” says Karen Clarke, Executive Director, Squamish Community Foundation. “This refresh not only looks compelling, it highlights the vital work of Squamish Helping Hands. The website shares the depth of its services, impact in the community, along with ways to get involved and support its mission.”

Squamish Helping Hands helps people in Squamish get through some of their worst moments so they can move forward. In 2024 alone, it served 80,000 nourishing meals, reversed hundreds of overdoses from toxic drugs, and offered 21,000 nights in stabilized, supported housing and emergency beds.

As a not-for-profit charity, Squamish Helping Hands relies on the kindness of donors, partners, and volunteers to continue its mission to inspire hope and independence.

There are many ways to support:

Donate: Financial or in-kind contributions directly impact lives.

Volunteer: Help take care of our community and connect with people in need.

Advocate: To create or a safe and healthy community for all.

About The Squamish Community Foundation

Established in 2003, the Squamish Community Foundation (SCF) is an independent, charitable organization dedicated to enriching the quality of life for community members in Squamish. We facilitate philanthropy by partnering with donors and connecting them with community causes they value. As a Community Foundation, our focus is on building permanent endowments that address long-term community challenges as well as immediate needs. From the income earnedon over $1.3 million in endowment funds, we invest grants in people, groups, and community impact. Our support stretches even further by professionally administering various government level non-profit funding opportunities for our community.  With projects like Vital Signs and Living Wage Reports we are also working to build community knowledge, engagement, and leadership.
