Dan Prisk

I am a first generation settler from the UK living on Sḵwx̱wú7mesh land.

I joined the board in 2025 after volunteering in the foodbank for a year prior. Working with Squamish Helping Hands as both a volunteer and board member has been part of my belief in the value of building strong communities in order to create more resilient and thriving futures. Ensuring that everybody in our community has enough to eat and a safe place to call home should be the bedrock of any social change.

Squamish is particularly a place where I feel very inspired to build this change. Like many I moved to the Sea to Sky for the outdoor adventures, but it was the community and sense of place in Squamish that has kept me here for more than a decade so far. With a graduate degree in sociology, and a professional background in software, I  am particularly oriented towards discussions at the intersection of justice, data, and social forces.
