This Holiday Season- Be a Helping Hand
Since 2007, Squamish Helping Hands Society has been supporting those most in need in our community. The holidays are a great time to celebrate and to make everyone’s life a little bit brighter. Here are some easy ways that you can lend a helping hand.
GIVE A GIFT
Everyone deserves a special gift to open on Christmas morning. Putting together a gift box is a fun and easy way to share your holiday spirit. Make this a team activity by getting your family, friends, workplace or school involved.
Now the fun part—shopping! Put together a box of items that you think will be appreciated (shoebox size is perfect), wrap it, label it male, female or unisex.
Drop off your shoebox gifts between DECEMBER 17th and 23rd at:
Under One Roof
37871 Third Avenue
Please note that 75% of our participants are male. Here are some suggestions for gift items:
- Socks
- Hats and Gloves
- Toiletries
- Hygiene products
- Gift Cards
- Scratch and Wins
- Special treats
We have many people who are artistic. They might love items to help them express their talents- e.g. paint and brushes, journals etc.
make a donation
Your donation means safety and a sense of home for people through:
- Providing a listening ear
- Helping people have a voice
- Help accessing income assistance
- Help accessing and receiving equitable medical care and mental health support
- Accessing treatment for substance use
- Pain management and clinical practitioners
- Learning new skills
- Opportunities to help others
